The Community Challenge Cup is a multi-round event set over four rounds

Round 1: Number and Algebra

Round 2: Geometry

Round 3: Open curriculum

Round 4: Problem-solving

The programme is designed for Y7 students to participate at three levels:

#1 School Level

#2 Regional Level

#3 National Level

School Level

Schools are given the training and resources to host an in-school tournament that is accessible at all attainment levels for Y7 pupils. Teachers select the appropriate level of scaffold from the resources to ensure accessibility for their pupils.

Students accumulate points for their school over the four rounds on the day,

Schools are rewarded based on the number of participating pupils and the number of points scored as a school community.

Regional Level

Schools then select up to two teams of 5 to represent the school at a regional heat.

This event is hosted at a regional centre in which up to 20 teams can participate.

Students collaborate to accrue points across the four rounds with the highest scoring teams on the day being regional winners.

These scores are entered into a national leaderboard.

National Level

Winners of each regional heat are invited to a grand final, with the remaining places being filled by the other highest-scoring teams from across the regionals.

The final is a head-to-head event with teams competing against eachother in rounds to battle it out in a fast-paced problem-solving final.

The winners of the final round are crowned as the Community Challenge Cup Champions.
